Simple way to disable Server Manager from starting at Logon

Server Manager is a very useful tool which is a single point of management for local and remote servers. It is great – but after some time you might get a bit annoyed with it starting up every time you log on to the server, especially on slow Remote Desktop connections…

There is a simple way to disable it from starting up automatically. This applies to Windows 2008 and Windows 2012

  1. In upper-right corner click Manage then click Server Manager Properties

  2. Check Do not start Server Manager automatically at logon, accept by clicking OK
