Show Hidden and System files in Total Commander

By default Total Commander does not show hidden and system files. This is to protect users from messing up Windows by deleting or modifying important files. Also as those files are there not for everyday users, Total Commander hides them to provide clean view on files.

But sometimes you need to view them to debug or fix some problems. Also most of the power users just want to view those files all the time.

Those steps show how to show hidden and system files in Total Commander:

  1. Go to Configuration/Options
    Total Commander - Main Window

  2. In the Configuration window click Display on the left.

    Total Commander Options Window
  3. Select Show hidden files and Show system files checkboxes, then click OK button.

    Total Commander Options Window
